Emmanuele Baldini

Born into a family of musicians, Emmanuele Baldini attended the “Virtuositè” class in the Geneva Conservatoire with Corrado Romano. He also studied in Berlin and in Salzburg with Ruggiero Ricci and for chamber music with the “Trio di Trieste” and with Franco Rossi. Winner of several international competitions (1st prize in Stresa, Capri, “Junger Kunstler Forum” in Vienna, Pinerolo, Caltanissetta), he was acclaimed as soloist winning the 1st “Virtuositè” prize with a special mention in Geneva, and the 3rd prize in the “R. Lipizer” Competition of Gorizia.

He has played solo and violin and piano recitals throughout Italy and in the main European concert halls: Vienna (Konzerthaus), Linz (Brucknersaal), Geneva (Victoria Hall), Munich (Gasteig), Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Salzburg, Ljubljana, Brussels (Big Concert Hall of the Royal Conservatoire), Budapest (“F. Liszt” Academy), Luxembourg, Paris and Copenhagen.

He has also performed in the USA (New York, Miami, Phoenix), Albania (Tirana), Turkey (Istanbul), Argentina (Buenos Aires, Rosário, Mar del Plata, Córdoba), Brazil (São Paulo, Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Curitiba, Porto Alegre), Australia (Sidney, Melbourne, Adelaide), Chile and in four long tours in Japan (Kioi Hall and Metropolitan of Tokyo, Symphony Hall of Osaka….)
He has interpreted the main concertos of the violin repertoire accompanied by orchestras such as: “Wiener Kammerorchester” (Mozart), “Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin” (Schumann), “Orchestre de la Suisse Romande” (Schostakovich), São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (Beethoven, Schumann, Casella), “Flanders Youth Philharmonic Orchestra” (Bruch), Orchestra of State of Moldavia (Brahms and Mendelssohn), “G. Verdi” Orchestra in Trieste (Mozart and Dvorak), Chamber Orchestra of Mantua (Mozart).

Countless musicians sang praises about him: Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Daniele Gatti, Aldo Ciccolini, Franco Gulli, Ruggiero Ricci, Franco Rossi and the “Trio di Trieste”. He has performed as soloist or in chamber music recitals with Nicholas Angelich, Ricardo Castro, Silvia Chiesa, Arnaldo Cohen, Antonio Meneses, Caio Pagano, Maria-João Pires, Luca Ranieri, Ilan Rechtman, Maurizio Zanini, Lilya Zilberstein.
He has recorded compact discs for Agorà, Algol, Rivoalto and Phoenix among which the CD with the Sonatas of Franck and Magnard was highly praised by the international critics. Other compact discs are: Viotti (duets for two violins, and sonatas for violin and cello), Paganini and Tartini (virtuouso pieces), Weber and Mendelssohn (sonatas for violin and piano), Martucci (complete music for violin and piano) (“One of the greatest tributes to G. Martucci”, according to G. Cerisola in “Classic Voice”). Future recordings include a CD of italian opera’s fantasies for violin and piano, another one with the Schumann and Dvorák piano quintets (with the Quarteto Osesp and Ricardo Castro) and, in 6 Cds, the three big Vivaldi’s cycles: “L’ Estro Armonico”, “La Stravaganza” and “Il cimento dell’armonia e dell’invenzione”.

He was concertmaster of the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra del Teatro “G. Verdi” di Trieste, Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia, also collaborating with the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala di Milano. Since 2005 he has been the concertmaster of the Orquestra Sinfonica do Estado de São Paulo (Brasil). He also is the founder and the first violin of the Quarteto Osesp.
